Gizmo is a Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island rock band formed in 2021, made up of Julien Kitson, Patrick Stephen, Spencer Swaine, and Daniel Hartinger, and they’ve built their sound around guitar-driven, slacker-inspired indie rock influenced by 1990s American alternative bands and East Coast Canadian rock scenes. Since their formation, they’ve steadily developed a reputation for energetic live shows and sharp songwriting, with releases like their 2023 EP Buddy System, which includes tracks such as “Luanne” and “Deepest Skin,” helping define their early identity. By 2023–2025, they were actively touring and building momentum across Atlantic Canada, appearing in showcases and interviews like East Coast DNA, which highlighted their growing presence in the regional music scene. More recently, their 2025–2026 activity has focused on expanding their catalog and live reach, with continued performances and new material circulating through platforms like Bandcamp and Spotify, positioning them as part of a newer wave of Canadian indie rock acts emerging from Prince Edward Island.
