Brokencyde, stylized as brokeNCYDE, is an American crunkcore group from Albuquerque, New Mexico, founded in 2006 and celebrated as one of the pioneering acts that fused bouncy Southern crunk hip-hop beats with screamed vocals, electronic synths, Auto-Tuned rapping, and chaotic party energy to create a wild, high-octane sound that defined the late 2000s scene era. Originally formed by vocalists David “Se7en” Gallegos and Michael “Mikl” Shea, the band exploded with early releases like the 2007 mixtape The Broken! and the 2009 debut album I’m Not a Fan, but the Kids Like It!, delivering massive anthems such as “Freaxxx,” “Teach Me How to Scream,” and “Scene Girlz” that blended screamo intensity with crunk swagger and infectious hooks. Following lineup shifts, including Se7en’s departure in 2022, the current core consists of Mikl on clean and rap vocals alongside Julian “Phat J” McLellan handling rap, growled vocals, keyboards, and programming, supported by touring musicians for their signature over-the-top live shows. With a catalog spanning albums like Will Never Die, All Grown Up, and recent 2025-2026 material including the Johnny Bravo EP plus singles such as “Used To Be,” “Pressure,” and “DTF,” Brokencyde continues to tour extensively across Europe and North America, maintaining a dedicated cult following through their unmistakable no-holds-barred approach to extreme party music that refuses to fade.
